Spending the weekend in Saint Anthony! Hiked Table Rock yesterday with my husband and brother in law yesterday, and ran a 5k today! 26:58 for the 5k today, almost a minute faster than my race on the 4th! Slowly chipping away at that 25:30 PR that I’m trying to beat!

Does anyone else’s hair look like this after a hard workout🤷🏻‍♀️😆 I told ya guys, I have no control over this hair of mine. It was a bit breezy out there, but geez...looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket. So, I had another big workout on the schedule for today. Im really enjoying my training lately! Coach says we will shift gears in a few weeks, but right now I’m loving the workouts & mileage. Here is what I did today: 3 miles up 2x800 1 x 4 miles @ threshold pace 4 x 400 3 miles down There were prescribed walking recoveries in between each set. This one felt really really good👌🏽 I hit all my paces and felt great afterwards. I ran this workout alone, but my run crew surprised me at the end & we ran the cool down together. Now I’m off to run some errands & get ready for a big night downtown. Kenny Chesney is in town & it’s time to party. Happy weekend, friends!! 🤠

Ultra marathons are tough But you know what ? TRAINING TECHNIQUES ⚡️ . Talking about two fun and effective ones in my stories this morning that were implemented into this week’s full body workout on the app 1️⃣ AMRAP (As Many Rounds(Reps) As Possible)- it’s time based and designed for you to push your limits. If you try today’s workout, I got 4.5 rounds in 10 minutes💦 . 50 banded jumping jacks 10 pushups 10 Single Leg Glute Bridge (Banded) 20 Alternating Jump Lunges 45 Second Plank . 2️⃣ PYRAMID- It can be designed multiple ways, but the idea is to decrease reps and you increase weight. It’s implementing progressive overload in a fun way and guaranteed to give you some shaky muscles 😬 . Some people love to write their own workouts, others absolutely want it to be handed to them (which are you? 👇🏼) so it’s one thing they don’t have to think about! (I love to do my own 4x a week and try something else 1-2x per week) Either way, stay willing to try new things or your muscles will never be challenged and things won’t change! . 4 weeks of killer (but fun) workouts are part of the #tightertogether program and you won’t be disappointed and you will be sore 😉

I capitalized on the Rest this morning and turned off all the alarms. Hit the gym for my 7 mile recovery run, set up on a treadmill facing the trees, put on the @richroll podcast with Chris Hauth and covered the screen with a towel. Be stubborn about your goals, but flexible about your method. . . Yesterdays run definitely called for flexibility. I was suppose to do an 18 Mile run but the trail took me a little longer than I expected and I needed to fetch Eliza from summer camp so had to cut the run short. I did however go out in the evening to make up some of the miles I missed in the morning. I ran 10 Miles in the morning and 6 Miles in the evening. I could beat myself up about the 2 miles I missed or that I had to split my run but I won't because life happens and you need to be flexible😊. #runhappy . . Easy 4.5 this AM and some hill strides at the end. Felt rather sluggish this week, so I kept my runs pretty easy. I would usually feel better as the run went on, I think it has to do with running up hill to start since I moved. I like to ease into runs 😂 not start with a hill (unless I’m running Loon Mt) to one of my runs in New Hampshire two weeks ago.
