Thinking back to the misty mornings in Iceland, driving through the black sands.

For us, living in a van hasn’t changed everything. We both have careers and a business that we’re incredibly invested in. But this lifestyle allows us the opportunity to live in a more balanced way. Yesterday started out stressful for me; I felt behind on work and just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Josh took the reigns and found this perfect little spot by the Colorado River to set up for the day. We put our heads down and knocked out the work. By lunch time, the stress had faded and we took a paddle up the Colorado river...we even got the dog on a SUP for the first time. Reengineering your life to better align with what you want doesn’t take away the stressors or make your problems disappear, but it sure makes them easier to deal with (and it’s a hell of a lot more fun!).

Sometimes the drive can be the best part of any adventure... and in some cases, it becomes the adventure! #utahisrad

🌓 The day my soulmate took these photographs, we left our first campsite in sequoia national park. The night before we arrived late after the stats had already come out to play, found a spot at the first campsite we found. It felt good to get out of the car and stretch our legs after hours of driving. We were surrounded by lots of other campers, the most I’ve ever encountered, but we were so excited to wake up early in the morning to see our view. It was breathtaking. We made vegan pancakes in the morning to the sound of kids playing and wind dancing through the trees. Three pancakes and lots of sneaky kisses later, we packed our kitchen back into our van and were headed back on the road to find an even more beautiful spot to camp and explore more of the park. My grandpa recommended a place for us to go and as soon as he said the words “even bigger trees” we were on our way. The sound of the Lumineers, Harry Potter, and Of Monsters and Men were singing through our little speaker during our whole journey through this magical land. It started to bring back memories of driving through the PNW and igniting the fire even more on how much I can’t wait for my love and I to journey there in a few months. Later this day we found our second camp spot, my second favorite of us living in our van so far, that came with a beautiful river, an abundance of sneaky kisses, a huge fire pit to make s’mores, late night black bear growls, and lots of mosquito bites.🌲

A compilation of some foggy roads from this morning’s expedition.
